Written by a Chinese medicine
physician, for people who don't read Chinese.
Same engine our clinics use. Nothing watered down for export.
Chinese medicine has never run on the calendar. It runs on the season — the sun's position, the humidity in the air, the way a body feels in early spring versus late autumn. TCM Care Pal reads that timing for today, folds in the moment you were born, and gives you one plain direction: what to eat, what to go easy on, one drink, one practice.
The obvious questions
Is this a horoscope?
No. Nothing here predicts events or your fate. We use your birth moment the way a gardener uses a planting date — it says what conditions you started in, which shifts which foods and habits suit you now. That's the extent of it.
Why do you need my birth time, not just the date?
Chinese medicine works in two-hour windows across the day, so the hour changes the reading. If you don't know it, pick noon and we'll say so on the card — the direction is still useful, just less sharply drawn.
What do you do with my data?
Your birth moment and, if you subscribe, your email address. Nothing else. No account, no tracking pixels, no ad partners, no supplement shop. Unsubscribe in one click and the record goes.
Is this going to tell me I'm ill?
Never. This is cultural and educational content about food, rest, movement and mood. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent anything.
Do I have to believe in Chinese medicine?
No. Plenty of readers use it the way they'd use a seasonal cookbook — "eat more of this in October" is useful advice whatever you think of the theory behind it.
24 solar terms and the classical Five Movements & Six Qi model — computed, not improvised.
Your birth moment is computed inside your browser. No account, no server holding it.
Food, rest, movement, mood — cultural and educational, never a diagnosis.
How it works
- The season first. The engine tracks the 24 solar terms and the classical Five Movements & Six Qi model — the same clock Chinese farmers, doctors and cooks have used for two thousand years.
- Then you. Add your birth date and time once. Chinese medicine reads a birth moment the way a gardener reads a planting date: it says what conditions you started in.
- Then today, together. The two are combined into a single line — for example Warm up · Dry the damp · Support Earth — and everything else on the card follows from it.
What you get
- Today's direction in one line
- What to favour and what to go easy on
- Three everyday foods, one drink
- One practice, with a reason
- Your baseline constitution chart
- A line from the classics, translated
What it isn't
- Not a diagnosis, and never a prognosis
- No predictions about illness
- No supplement shop attached
- No account, no email, no tracking
- No data leaves your device
A kitchen that changes with the season
Congees and teas from the tradition your daily card draws on — mild, seasonal, and made from ingredients you already know. Scroll along.
Photographs are illustrative — your daily card always names the exact ingredients and why they suit today.
Your data stays on your phone
Everything — your birth moment, your reading, today's card — is computed inside your browser and stored in your browser's own local storage. There is no account to create and no server holding your birth details. Clearing your browser data clears it, and that is the whole of it.
This is not a marketing claim bolted on afterwards: it is why the first version of this site has no login at all.
Who it's for
People who already feel better when they eat with the season and worse when they don't, but have no idea what the rule actually is. People who are curious about Chinese medicine and want something concrete rather than abstract. And anyone who has been told to "eat more warming foods" and would like to know what that means on a Tuesday in October.
You do not need to believe anything to use it. You need a birth date, a time, and about thirty seconds a morning.
